All of the grey and orange color tones on the current work are produced 100% randomly (according to the airflow in the kiln) when the sodium-carbonate that is sprayed into the kiln (at 2345 °F) vaporizes and chemically reacts with the alumina, silica, and iron molecules in the clay.
